Educational Support

As of October 2022, about 20 million children are out of school in Nigeria, according to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). This figure is a far-reaching increase from the 10.5 million recorded by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in 2020.

Gede’s educational support focuses on i) ensuring that orphans and vulnerable children acquire basic education and life skills that will enable them lay foundations for productive lives, and, ii) supporting young school leavers undergoing National Youth Service Corps Programme, to teach essential subjects in rural communities where teachers are inadequate.

The project promotes access to education and sanitation behaviours among young people across many communities in Cross River state and Abuja.
